Over the last year, IslandKidz has developed into a strong group of
volunteers dedicated to helping maintain the integrity of Vancouver
Island's electronic music culture.
By distributing information about important topics before those
issues become problematic, we believe we are creating a 'cure'
before the 'disease', so to speak.
IslandKidz set up a table at raves and other events that displays
flyers containing health and safety information, free condoms,
candy and earplugs and glo-in-the-dark bracelets for sale by
donation. We also do "Vibe Patrol" which means that our members
are always wandering the events with fresh water, candy and a
positive attitude looking for people who may need some extra
attention. Adulterant screening is an important harm reduction
service that IslandKidz offer as well.
